NB: applications or firearms possessed in foreign countries are to be processed first and will only be imported once licensed in Namibia.

AUTHORIZATION TO POSSESS A FIREARM

NB: Visa must be at least be valid for the next four and above months.

  1. Purchase receipt of firearm from the dealer or
  2. License of such firearm from the country of origin
  3. Proof of safe receipt or statement from Police officer
  4. Valid passport including the page of the visa
  5. No revenue stamp, passport photos or VAT

FIREAMRS BOUGHT IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY

  1. Copy of applicant’s ID
  2. Pol 151
  3. Revenue stamp of N$50-00 for each application
  4. Proof of safe (receipt or safe inspection by a Police officer)
  5. Two passport photos
  6. Valuation from at least two different dealers
  7. Proof of purchase of firearm
  8. Dealer’s particulars, date stamp and signature on page 2 of Pol 563
  9. Only original forms are acceptable.
