Applying For a Police Record

Persons who require a Police Record should visit any of the Inland Revenue Department Offices (Tax Office) and pay for the record. The receipt must be in the name of the applicant.

You are then required to go on our JCF website ( www.jcf.gov.jm ) or type applying for police record Jamaica in your google search engine

and complete the application form on the JCF webpage.

You will be able to set your own appointment date.

Ensure that your correct email is entered. After completion, submit the application and download the application it will also appear in the email account you’ve entered earlier.

You should then arrive at The Technical Services Division (Criminal Records Office), 56 Duke Street, Kingston on the appointment date that you have set for yourself with the following documents;

– the receipt from the tax office the printed application

– a document for identification (preferable the one which is use to complete the application such as; elector id, drivers licenses or passport).

– Passport size photos (1 or 2) should NOT be certified or embossed

If the police record is for overseas/travelling purposes, a VALID passport must be presented.

Fingerprinting is done at the following locations:

A letter of authorization must be provided if the police record is to be collected by someone other than the applicant. The bearer must have valid identification.

Fees may be paid in USD, CAD, Pound and any note tenable in Jamaica via money order made payable to the Commissioner of Police as well as a third party locally, who will make the payment at the tax office.

How to send fingerprints from abroad

Fingerprints can be sent via courier service, regular mail or a third party.

If the applicant does not have a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN), payment must be made at the: Jamaica Constabulary Force Finance Branch, Ground Floor, N.C.B North Tower, 2 Oxford Road, Kingston 5. The receipt and documents must then be taken to the Technical Services Division (Criminal Records Office), 56 Duke Street, Kingston.

If the applicant has a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN), payment must be made at any Inland Revenue Department (Tax Office) islandwide, and the receipt and documents taken to the Technical Services Division (Criminal Records Office), 56 Duke Street, Kingston.

NB: For Police certificates to be used abroad, the passport is the only accepted form of identification.
